Tragedy was narrowly averted today by the quick thinking and quicker actions of a rural Lexington homeowner. The Misses was mowing the lawn on a riding lawnmower when the infernal device burst into flame. (Infernal inferno?) The Misses dethroned the combusting contraption even as the flames toasted her buns. She raced to the house and informed her husband of the ensuing catastrophe. In a display of bravery rarely seen outside a Brian Bosworth movie the husband retrieved a class ABC fire extinguisher from his shop building and sprinted the 50 feet to the burning machine; with apparent total disregard for his personal safety. He was able to extinguish the flames just as they were lapping at the fuel tank containing an approximate 4oz to 6oz of gasoline.

Damages were estimated at $40.00; including $35.00 for the fire extinguisher and $5.00 for the lawn mower. The homeowners only comment was “This will just make it that much harder to make her mow the yard”

  1. That was too funny. What caught on fire? It is just about as good as the time another said homeowner tried to turn the lawnmower carrying a wagon to sharp and turned over the wagon that homeowners young child was in. Damages were $100 for a broken wagon and some damage was done to the child's thoughts of how caring the homeowner was.
